The Tri-John-athon the final finish line

Well John completed the Tri John a thon but I do believe he will have a lot of trouble getting others to join him in this event next year. Thank you all for your support and encouragement for John's Marathon and the prayers and help with the added events.

Finished the first part of the Tri-John-athon onto the next 2 events

I drove the famly home from Nashvill while John tried to sleep. The next morning he got up and started the 2 days of renovation that had to be in progress because the Electricity had to be shut off and removed for the changing of the siding. Sunday was moving electrical and planning for the huge job of moving doors adding 2 windows and Monday John and Josh worked all monday side by side to complete the job, In the afternoon Nick joined the crew. John worked non stop. He even worked while he ate. At 9 pm I had to order him to stop (not something he receives well nor do I try to do it often. Beleve it or not he was back at work on Tuesday. May it never be said that John is not the King of the TRI-JOHN-ATHON.

Here comes the Man,

We waited at the finish line. I could not believe that we got such a good place to stand only about 100 yards before the finish line. The kids were so excited to be there to cheer their dad on at the very end. What fun to celebrate John success as a family.

The first event in the Tri-John-athon

Saturday we watched John by computer and by siting him along the route. This is one that he snuck up on us so fast that my camera had fog on the lense.

Then Josh decided that he wanted to run along side. We picked him up about a 1/2 mile down the road.

Here we go again and The Tri-John-athon

I know, I know, I have not done anything with this blogg since I started it. I sat down in early January to blogg our last year. It was quite clever and full of information, but, as with all moms I was interrupted to attend some crisis. I was not able to get back to the computer in time to prevent one of my lovely children from deleting the entire entry. Needless to say time and discouragement have kept me from coming back and starting over again.
So, 5 months later, with school behind us and the summer looming before us I begin anew….

The Tri-John-athon

As many of you know John has been in training for the Country Music Marathon in Nashville Tennessee. He wanted to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. As most of you know, he has been involved professionally in the fight against cancer for the past ten years as a nurse practitioner at the Midsouth Cancer Center. Recently, He helped care for a young man battling acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). His patient endured the hardships of cancer and treatment with incredible dignity, constant concern for his family, and very little regard for himself. This patient lost his fight with cancer, but his courage made an indelible impression on John. He has often been struck by the courage of his patients, and wanted to honor them by doing something more. He was able to raise over $1200 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

We loaded up the whole family to got and support him on the big day. Here are some pictures of the fun day.
